Volunteer Needs

Whether volunteering for the PTO Board, a Committee, or helping with fundraising events, you are important and needed! Our efforts bring together families and teachers to fulfill the school’s mission of helping all students reach their maximum potential as life-long learners in a stimulating, positive, and safe environment.

Below are a list of specific PTO Volunteer openings.  We need you!  Keep in mind, the PTO exec board will help guide new parents through volunteering.  Don’t hesitate to take on a new event, as we have templates and information to help walk you through the process!

Please consider reaching out to [email protected] if you are intersted in additinal information or volunteering.

Parent Lead for the Turkey Trot:  Want to get involved with the PTO but need a way to ease into it?  The Turkey Trot may be for you.  The Turkey Trot is an annual event taking place during school hours on a Friday in November.  Once the kids finish, they enjoy cider and donuts in the gym.

Our need:  A parent to lead the coordination.  Contact Ms. Arbour to set a date for the event.  Contact Busch’s regarding donating cider and donuts – coordinate pick up and bring to the school day of the event.  Send out a sign up genius through an all school email to find volunteers.

Parent Lead and Helpers for Bagel Friday(s):  We need a lead to help coordinate bagel Fridays.  Bagel Fridays are a casual, fun event for the family that takes place in the cafeteria before school, starting around 8:10am.

Our Need:  We need someone to coordinate Bagel Friday efforts.  This includes contacting vendors regarding bagels, muffins, coffee and juice.  Purchasing and coordinating pick up as well as supplies (The PTO reimburses for all expenditures.)  Coordinating a team to get to the school around 7:45 – 8:00am and setting up bagels, coffee and juice.  Take care of cash and be responsible for maintaining cash flow.

Additionally, we need helpers on the morning of bagel Friday.  Get to the school around 8:00am to help finishing set up, help pass out bagels, take money, pour juice, clean up, ect.

Parent Lead for Math Club:  We are looking for a lead parent to coordinator our Math Club.  Here is a bit about the group:  Any 1st to 5th grade student who enjoys math and seeks a challenge is welcome to join Match Club.  We meet once a week starting roughly in October until March.  We ask parent volunteers to coach, provide in-class assistance, to monitor student behavior during classes, make copies of the class materials, etc.  We encourage the students to participate in the annual mathematics competition called Math Kangaroo, which happens in mid-March.
