Class Picture Project

We have a fun new project headed by King parents Denise Fernandes and Shanti Eswaran. They are leading the brand new King PTO Class Picture project, which aims to offer to each King student her/his class picture composite.  We believe kids would love to have a physical photo that they can put on their study station, next to their computers.

Your participation is voluntary. If you are willing to join this project, please send a face portrait of your child in this Google form.  If you don’t have a Google account (such as Gmail), please email the teacher’s name to [email protected] to receive an alternative way to send us the picture. Important, by sending us a picture you (parent or legal guardian) authorize the King PTO to use your child’s image in the Class Picture project.

If you would like to help in the composites design, checking eventual missing portraits with parents and assembling the class pictures, please sign up here. Thanks!

King School Online Directory

Need a way to stay connected with classmates? Looking to connect for a playdate?

If so, please take this opportunity to sign up for the King School Online Directory!

Every year we provide families a chance to stay connected and join our online directory. This year it is even more important to keep our children connected during the pandemic and the online directory is the ONLY way you can get contact information about your children’s classmates.  Teachers and office staff are unable to share emails and addresses with you.  If you are not in the directory, then other parents will not be able to get your contact information from the school.

Here’s what you need to do:

  • Go to <>.
  • Click on the Register/Login button.
  • If you already have an account with another organization that uses Membership Toolkit you can use the same email and password to login. You can then proceed to the numbered steps below.
  • Select “Create Account” and fill in the name, email, and password information.
  • Click “verify my email” and then check your email for a link to complete the process. The link expires in 2 hours. If you do not receive the email, check your spam or junk folders.
  • Once you have verified your email address, log back in and finish the registration process.
  1. Complete the Parent/Family and Student Information.
  2. Complete the Directory/Publish Preferences
  3. Questions? – Please don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected]

Thanks for your cooperation!

November PTO Meeting – Approved Budget

The 2020 – 2021 budget approved at November 2nd, 2020 PTO Meeting can be found at the link below:

PTO Budget 2020-2021 (Final)

Do you have the ability to translate? We have heard from families that, particularly this school year, it would be helpful to have some parents help translate emails, such as emails sent in the last few weeks regarding the school technology, for our non-English speaking families. In particular, we have a need for folks who might be willing to volunteer to translate messages into Chinese, Korean, and Japanese languages.

Please contact [email protected] if you are interested in volunteering as a translator.

Volunteer Opportunities

Are you interested in volunteering? This year, we are trying something new. First, we are looking for social chairs. These are volunteers who want to help coordinate social connections in their child’s class. This could include a lot of creative ideas, including virtual and other safe meet-ups for kids to get to know one another, helping teachers plan class celebrations, and the like.

We also have a new position called an “Issues Parent.” Issues Parents will help both parents and teachers by scaling the number of frequently asked questions or issues for the teacher and helps communicate with other parents. We created this position because we think it is likely that there will be more challenges in a virtual setting, and we want to help both parents and teachers work together as a team and streamline that process.

Please sign up here to be a room parent in your child’s classroom.

Drop Off and Pick Up at King: An Essential Guide

Check out our  Drop-off and Pick-up Guide!!!

Check out these fliers to ensure the safety of our children and to help traffic move through the circle quickly, including the AAPS buses.

It is critical that each and every parent (or caregiver) follow these instructions.

The five key pointers are:

1. Right in, right out, go slowly – you can ONLY turn right into the drop off circle from 8:30 am – 9:00 am and 3:45 pm – 4:15 pm.

2. There is only one way to drive through the circle – obey the “do not enter sign.”

3. Children exit the car on the curb side (passenger side, or right side) ONLY.  No one should ever exit on the left side of the car.  This is very dangerous for the children and the drivers.

4.  Pull up as far as you can – parents should drop off students close to the front doors to allow more cars to pull into the circle area.

5. Do not park and/or leave your car in the drop off circle.  The drop off circle is for drop off and pick up only.

Thank you for helping keep King students safe!
